Would that I had more yarn money to make people socks. ^_^ Hopefully I wouldn't get too scared while knitting them. ^_~

LOLOL. I've been wanting to learn to knit for awhile, but alas, I haven't the funds. Is it a very hard pattern, do you think? I don't know from squat when it comes to knitting.

Kinda hard for a first project, but not completely impossible. You might have to omit the "plunger bobbles," which seems to be the hardest part.

I'd say get some cheap yarn and needles to make sure you can learn knitting, purling, increases, and decreases, and once you have those down, you can handle pretty much anything. ^_^

Rick really wants a pair of these socks - he said 'you can knit, right?' I told him no, but I'd been wanting to learn and it would be a great thing to have since I'm not in school right now. He said 'Hmm', so I htink I've put a bug in his ear, and he may get me some knitting stuff and a how to book or the like. We'll see. :)

There's, evidently, tons of knitting instructional videos on YouTube. Or just generally out there on the internet--so if learning from a book doesn't quite do it for you, you can watch it online. ^_^

And you can always ask me questions if you want. There are different ways to knit, and I learned a different way from most of the instructional videos I've seen. . . for some reason, they want to teach you the most inefficient and awkward way to do it. If you're interested, I could see if I can remember what the hell my way is called and find a video of it. ^_^

I was thinking of picking up some knitting book at the library today, but then it wouldn't be very productive without the materials to do the stuff by, even just to learn and practice.

If you're desperate, there's always pencils and string. ^_~ But I doubt that's the easiest way to learn. . .

Yay, I have some knitting stuffs. A book with needles and instructions, some yarn, light coloured so I can see my stitches.

I'm wondering - is the way you learned called Continental or perhaps German? I'm going to start with the way the book tells me, but a lovely older woman at the creft store said she did it another way, Continental, and it's much easier, so once I learn the book's way, I'll be looking up the Continental way.

Anyway, I'm off to put away groceries and learn to knit, yay!

Yay! ^_^

Yep, that's the one. . . well, sort of. I hold the working yarn in my left hand, but I still usually "throw" instead of "pick." So don't let the picking part intimidate you if it seems weird. . . you can do without it.

I think knitting English (yarn in right hand) is way hard and slow. . . I hate how you have to hold both needles with your left hand each time you make a stitch!

I've only tried casting on for now, but even in that they wanted me to first try some way wherer you do have to put both needles in your left hand to make a stitch, which I thought was ridiculous. At least thery also showed another method which was infinitely easier and more fluid for me to do.

Kitty Leo the ButtNuggestSupreme is trying to walk on the keyboard, hence the typos, sorry. Tomorrow - learning Continental!
